My referee report for the year 2024.
New referees are needed for FC Räterschen!
In 2024, as an experienced referee, I have been given the opportunity to take on the role of new referee coach for the Zurich Region Football Association (FVRZ). My job as a coach is to give the new referees confidence during their first assignments.
The list of tasks includes the preliminary discussion of the first assignment, accompanying the new referee to the first game, giving tips on all aspects of the game (in particular administration, club corner, but also match management), checking the administrative tasks (club corner, result reporting), answering all the new referee’s questions, being the first point of contact for the new referee in the future, preparing a performance report for the new referee and the association.
I was able to provide 7 successful mentoring sessions:
Akil, Halis, Fabian, Raphael, Bahaa, Ömer and Marco.
Anyone who knows me knows that I have a structured approach to coaching. That’s why I’ve recorded my longstanding approach for my new SRs on 4 pages and in chapters: 1. before the game at home, 2. at the venue before the start of the game, 3. during the game, 4. after the game. Perhaps my experiences and tips will help new referees to approach their first games with greater confidence. Yes, it won’t always be easy as a referee during the game.
On November 11, over 60 new referees for the Zurich Region Football Association (FVRZ) were certified at FIFA on the Zürichberg. We look forward to welcoming some of them to Räterschen next year.

Statistics 2024
Over the course of 2024, I officiated 33 matches myself.
My mileage from kick-off to the end of the game was 240 km. With the additional 3 km run-in before the games, I ran 336 km. As in previous years, this corresponds to 10 km per match.
