My 1’000th yellow card
in my 20th year as a referee.
In the 558th match, I set a personal record for the number of yellow cards. The fairest division of all, the women’s 2nd division, set this negative record for itself.
On 8 October 2023 in the women’s 2nd division match between FC Thayngen-Neunkirch and FC Phoenix-Seen, I had to issue the 1,000th yellow card. The offence took place in the 82nd minute with the score at 2-1 to the home team. Player no. 44 brought down the attacking striker from the home team quite unsportingly with her knee out in order to prevent a promising attack.

I am happy to share with you my referee performance summary of the past year 2023.
In the course of 2023, I officiated 37 matches.
The mileage from kick-off to the end of the game was 269 km.
With the additional 101 km run-in before the games, I ran 370 km. As in previous years, this equates to 10 kilometres per match.
At the end of the calendar year, I have now officiated a total of 565 matches for the FVRZ to ensure a “fair game of football”.
